Two short works of mine that have been drifting around aimlessly for awhile have finally found a place to call home: They've both been published in Does It Have Pockets, an online journal "with an emphasis on the uncatagorizable." That's appropriate, because I've never known what to call these pieces: microfiction? prose poems? Whatever they are, one is called "Infinite Flow" (that's probably a prose poem), the other is "Gathering" (microfiction), and you can read both them here.
Last year, my novel A Travelogue for the Wasteland was a finalist for the University of New Orleans' Publishing Lab Prize. This year, I gave it another go with my new short story collection, Lost Time Incidents. Once again, my work made it to the final round, but, alas, it didn't win. For now, I remain so close. We'll see what the next try will bring...
It's been a slow year for news on the site, but I'm still out here and still working. I recently completed a collection of short stories focusing on workers at a Wisconsin packing plant, and that collection, Lost Time Incidents, was several years in the making. While I look for markets for Lost Time Incidents and my two novels, I'm also working on the next couple of writing projects. Thanks for staying tuned, my faithful reader -- there may be some actual news soon!
